    Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated construction inspectors for projects located at various locations throughout South Carolina. The position(s) will be based out of our Lexington office and will conduct and document inspections on building projects. 


    Responsibilities include data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to: soil density, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural bolting/welding, foundation, accessibility, and various buildings inspections. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and the ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required.  Extended hours and overnight stays will be required.


    Successful candidates will have an associate degree (or higher) in engineering or a related field from an accredited secondary institution AND at least three years of relevant work experience OR, if no degree, must have at least five years of relevant work experience.


    Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following: AWS certified welding inspector; one or more special inspector certifications (masonry, reinforced concrete, soils); ICC certifications (special inspections, code inspections, and material testing for building construction); ACI certification; CEPSCI certification.
