Overview

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm has a position available for a limited-term, part-time planning intern to work on projects starting in January/February 2018 and ending in August/September 2018. This position could be located in our Madison or Milwaukee office. This position is currently anticipated to be part-time, and it could potentially be converted to a regular, full-time, benefits-eligible position. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assisting with transportation, community planning and zoning projects; corridor studies; NEPA documentation; zoning codes; development review and long-range plans; research; data collection and analysis; graphics development; and document writing. Some travel may be required. The hours for this position may vary from 30-40 per week depending on workload.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, geography, or related field. 

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: experienced with urban planning principles; experience with ESRI products, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop; strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong writing skills; experience with urban design, land division and zoning reviews; strong research and analysis skills.
